After successfully completing the Federal-State Inspection (BLI), the German School Nairobi was awarded the title “Excellent German International School” for the third time in a row. This prestigious title is officially recorded in a certificate signed by the Federal President.
On September 20, German Ambassador Sebastian Groth personally presented the certificate to our school principal Jörg Isenbeck.

German schools abroad enjoy a high reputation worldwide as centers of education and intercultural exchange. There are a total of 140 German schools abroad that offer German school-leaving qualifications recognized by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs. They are funded by the Federal Foreign Office, the Central Agency for Schools Abroad, and the respective federal states.
Since 2008, the “Excellent German International School” seal of quality has been awarded every five to six years to schools that continuously develop through comprehensive educational quality management. This award, personally confirmed by the Federal President, stands for outstanding education and pedagogical excellence.
