Social Work

School social work is an integral part of life at the German School Nairobi, marked by open ears, creative ideas, and many meaningful encounters. We listen, guide, and connect. Whether in the classroom, at the Parent Café, or during theme weeks, our goal is to provide orientation and strengthen togetherness across our school community, for both children and adults alike.

Parent Café

Together with the special education team, we regularly host the Parent Café. In a relaxed atmosphere, parents can find information and exchange ideas on topics such as ADHD, reading and writing difficulties, dyscalculia, or media use. The strong response shows how valuable this space for dialogue and understanding is.

Theme Weeks

From mindfulness during Advent to mental health, neurodiversity, and respect for diversity, our theme weeks bring movement and fresh perspectives to school life. With posters, activities, and classroom visits, we encourage reflection and open conversations.

Individual Counseling

Some students come regularly, while others come only once, depending on their needs. Parents and teachers also make use of our support service. We listen, help with challenges, and work together to find solutions.

Class Cohesion

How can a class work well together? What helps prevent conflicts and ensures everyone feels comfortable? Through class visits and group work, we actively strengthen social skills and promote a sense of belonging.
